About Me

I’m Kari, a luxury Makeup Artist based in Calgary, Alberta. My journey into makeup artistry began in 2020 during COVID-19. I was unemployed and didn’t know what I wanted to do as a career. One day, my mom and sister told me they had signed me up for makeup school. They thought this would be something that I would excel at, but not a single part of me wanted to do this. I didn’t know if I was ready to step into something new. They generously paid the initial non-refundable deposit upon signing me up for the class, so I had to go whether I wanted to or not. I immediately fell in love with it. I knew this was what I was meant to do with my life. Over the last five years, I have built a well-rounded career, working across diverse sectors in the beauty industry, including weddings, commercials, film, fashion, and more. This experience has enabled me to adapt to any creative environment with ease.

From that very first day of school, makeup became more than just an art form to me. It became my life, a way to connect with others and help them shine, celebrating their individuality. Beauty isn’t just about how we look. It’s about how we feel. Everyone I connect with has a story, and I am grateful to be a small part of every one of them.
