About Me

I’m Kari, a luxury Makeup Artist based in Calgary, Alberta. My journey into makeup artistry began in 2020 during COVID-19. I was unemployed and didn’t know what I wanted to do as a career. One day, my mom and sister told me they had signed me up for makeup school. They thought this would be something that I would excel at, but not a part of me wanted to do this. I didn’t know if I was ready to step into something new. They generously paid the initial non-refundable deposit upon signing me up for the class, so I had to go whether I wanted to or not. I immediately fell in love with it. I knew this was what I was meant to do with my life.

From that very first day of school, makeup became more than just an art form to me. It became my life, a way to connect with others, to help them shine and celebrate their individuality. Beauty isn’t just about how we look. It’s about how we feel. Everyone I connect with has a story, and I am grateful to be a small part of every one of them.
